Kraft Business Cards

What it's for

Kraft business cards say handmade, natural and local before anyone reads a word. The thick brown board has the look of a paper shopping bag and the feel of something made with care, which is why farm stands, bakeries, coffee roasters, florists, woodworkers, makers and craft breweries choose it. The board and the printing

Kraft cards are 3.5 by 2 inches on an 18 pt kraft board, uncoated and made from recycled fiber, printed in full color on one side or both. Kraft is printed without white ink: anything white in your design is the brown board, and colors print darker and earthier than on white paper. They are made in 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500 or 5,000. Design yours online: the designer shows your card on the board, and the kraft templates are drawn for it.

How printing on kraft works

Ink on kraft behaves like ink on a brown paper bag: the board shows through. Black, charcoal, deep green, navy and dark red stay bold and readable; pale colors and pastels nearly disappear. Since there is no white ink, a word you want to stand out light is set in a dark panel and left unprinted, so it shows in the color of the board. Photos print darker and warmer than on white paper, so a simple logo usually looks best.

See it before you order

Our designer shows your card on the kraft board as you work, with every color printed onto the brown, so what you see is close to what you get. Choose Kraft under Specialty papers and any template you pick redraws on the board. Your proof shows it the same way, and we flag anything that will be hard to read before it prints.

Good to know

Kraft is thick and slightly textured, so very fine lines and tiny type soften a little. Keep words at 8 point or larger and lines at least half a point. If you need a bright white card with a natural feel, look at ultra smooth instead.

Design it online: start from one of our templates or your own logo, or upload a print-ready file in the designer, and see the price for every quantity as you go. The price is for the whole order, from 100, and the more you order, the less each one costs. We check every file and send a proof within 1 business day, and nothing is made until you approve it. It is ready to pick up or ships 6 to 7 business days after you approve the proof. Pick it up free at our Hopewell Junction shop, or we ship it anywhere in the US.
