Choose your finish
Every finish is printed in full color on one side or both, with a proof before anything prints. Pick one to see what it is and what it costs.
Metallic foil: gold and silver that catch the light
Gold or silver metallic foil pressed onto the words, logo or shapes you mark in the designer, on a thick 16 pt card laminated in matte or soft touch. Everything else prints in full color.
Foil is the finish people reach out and touch. A logo, a name or a border in foil flashes as the card moves, and makes a simple design look made to last.
When to choose it
- Logos, names and monograms
- Wedding and gala invitations
- Holiday and thank you cards
- Real estate, legal and financial brands
From $85.99 for 100 business cards
Also with metallic foil: Foil postcards · Foil invitations · Foil greeting cards · Foil rack cards · Foil presentation folders · Everything in foil
Spot UV: gloss where you want it
A clear, raised gloss on the parts of your design you mark in the designer, over a soft matte laminated card. The colors print as designed underneath.
Spot UV makes a logo or a pattern shine against a velvety matte card, so it catches the light and the fingertips. On a dark card, a tone on tone pattern appears only as the card turns.
When to choose it
- Logos and patterns on dark cards
- Photos that should pop
- Postcards and bookmarks with a highlight
- Subtle tone on tone designs
From $87.99 for 100 business cards
Also with spot uv: Spot UV postcards · Spot UV bookmarks · Spot UV greeting cards · Everything in spot UV
Pearl paper: a soft shimmer
A 14 pt pearlescent card with the shimmer in the paper itself, so the whole card glows softly as it turns in the light, front and back, with your design printed crisply on top.
Pearl makes a simple design look finished and expensive without a single extra color. People tilt it to catch the light, and that second look is the point.
When to choose it
- Wedding planners, bridal shops and florists
- Salons, spas and jewelers
- Photographers and luxury real estate
- Invitations and cards that match your business card
From $38.99 for 100
Also on pearl: Pearl invitations · Pearl cards and postcards
Kraft: natural, thick and earthy
An 18 pt brown kraft board made from recycled fiber, printed in full color without white ink, so white in your design is the board itself and dark inks print rich and earthy.
Kraft says handmade and local before anyone reads a word. It has the warmth of a paper shopping bag and a thickness people notice.
When to choose it
- Farm stands, bakeries and coffee roasters
- Makers, florists and woodworkers
- Breweries, markets and gift shops
- Thank you cards tucked into every order
From $23.99 for 100
Also on kraft: Kraft thank you cards · Kraft invitations
Painted edge: color on every side
A 32 pt card, about twice as thick as a standard card, with all four edges painted black, gold, silver, red, light blue or yellow, or left white.
A painted edge shows the moment a card comes out of a wallet and stays visible in a stack on a desk. The weight in the hand does the rest: people keep a card that does not bend.
When to choose it
- Designers, architects and creative studios
- Attorneys, advisors and consultants
- Chefs, photographers and boutiques
- Anyone whose brand has a signature color
From $107.99 for 250
Metal: white-coated aluminum
Full color with a glossy finish, printed on aluminum that is white-coated on both sides, 0.04 inch (our standard) or a thinner 0.025 inch, with soft 1/8 inch rounded corners on every card. Sold in sets of 55, with free shipping.
Nothing else feels like metal in the hand. It does not bend, crease or tear, it is heavy enough to notice, and people keep it, show it and remember who gave it to them.
When to choose it
- Real estate agents and brokers
- Contractors, auto shops and tradespeople
- Salons, tattoo studios and photographers
- VIP, membership and referral cards
From $95.00 for 1 set
Die-cut: an oval or a leaf
A 3.5 by 2 inch card cut by a die into a full oval, or a leaf with two opposite corners rounded wide, on 14 or 16 pt card, glossy or matte.
A shape makes a familiar card feel new in the hand. An oval suits a round logo, and a leaf reads natural and friendly.
When to choose it
- Salons, bakeries and boutiques
- Landscapers, florists and wellness studios
- Brands with a round or organic logo
- Large runs: up to 25,000 at a time
From $55.99 for 250
Rounded corners: soft and finished
Our standard, premium and luxe cards, soft touch, pearl, kraft or waterproof, with all four corners cut at a 1/4 inch radius.
Rounded corners are the quiet upgrade: they do not dog-ear in a wallet, and the card feels softer and more finished in the hand.
When to choose it
- Salons, spas and dentists
- Photographers, coaches and designers
- Any card that lives in a wallet
- On almost every paper we print
From $37.99 for 250
Soft touch: velvet to the touch
A thick 18 pt card laminated on both sides with a soft touch film: smooth like suede, with rich, muted color and no glare.
Soft touch is quiet luxury. Dark colors look deep and velvety, and the laminate makes the card tough and hard to bend.
When to choose it
- Attorneys, agents and consultants
- Designers and salons
- Dark, rich brand colors
- A card that feels as good as it looks
From $80.99 for 250
Also on soft touch: Soft touch with gold or silver foil · Soft touch with spot UV
Waterproof: made for wet work
A 16 pt synthetic stock that is waterproof and tear resistant, made with no tree fiber and recyclable, with a smooth matte surface.
A paper card wrinkles in the rain and tears in a back pocket. A waterproof card still looks right after a day on a boat, a job site or a kitchen counter.
When to choose it
- Marinas, fishing guides and pool services
- Landscapers and contractors
- Food trucks and kitchens
- Outdoor price lists, plant cards and dock rules
From $53.99 for 100
Also on waterproof: Waterproof postcards and cards
Ultra smooth: bright white, no texture
A 16 pt uncoated card with a completely even, bright white surface: no coating and no texture, so it feels natural and soft in the hand.
Ultra smooth is for a clean, modern card that is not shiny. It takes a pen easily and shows fine type and quiet colors at their best.
When to choose it
- Minimal, modern designs
- Cards you write on
- Small runs from 25 cards
From $14.99 for 25

Questions about specialty printing
We're at 10 Corporate Park Drive in Hopewell Junction. Call or stop by and we'll help you choose the right finish for your card.
What is the most impressive business card you print?
It depends on the impression you want. Gold or silver foil flashes as the card moves; metal business cards are white-coated aluminum, rigid and unforgettable; painted edge cards are the thickest paper cards and the most noticed; pearl shimmers; soft touch feels like velvet; spot UV puts a raised gloss on your logo; kraft says natural and handmade; and a die-cut shape is the one people turn over in their hands. Call us at 845-202-7600 and we will help you pick.
How much do specialty business cards cost?
Each finish shows what it starts at on this page, for the smallest order it is made in, and the designer shows the exact price for your quantity and sides as you go. Prices are for the whole order, full color, with a proof included.
How long do specialty cards take?
They are ready to pick up or ship 2 to 9 business days after you approve your proof, depending on the finish: each one says its own days above, and the designer gives the date. Specialty papers, shapes, foil and spot UV are not available on rush; rounded corners on our standard cards can be, where the designer offers it.
Can I see what my card will look like before I order?
Yes. The designer shows your own card on the paper you choose as you work: kraft brown, the pearl shimmer, the edge color, the cut shape, and foil or spot UV shining on the parts you mark. We also send a proof to approve before anything prints. Questions about a paper? Call us at 845-202-7600.
How do I add gold foil or spot UV to my card?
Open the foil business card or spot UV business card designer, then select a word, shape or logo and press Foil or Spot UV above the card. It shines on screen as it will in print, and the price does not change with how much you mark. See metallic foil printing and spot UV printing for every piece, size and price.
Can my design go all the way to the edge?
Yes. Set your background past the edge and we trim it clean. On a die-cut card it is trimmed to the shape, and on a painted edge card the edge color wraps the trimmed edge. Foil and spot UV stay about 0.2 inch in from the edge.
Do you make metal business cards?
Yes. Metal business cards are printed in full color with a glossy finish on white-coated aluminum, 0.04 or 0.025 inch thick, with 1/8 inch rounded corners, one side or both. They are sold in sets of 55 with free shipping, or free pickup at our shop, and are not available on rush.
Can I print white on kraft paper?
No. Kraft is printed in full color without white ink, so anything white in your design shows the brown board. A light word on a dark panel is left unprinted and shows in the color of the kraft, which is a classic kraft look. The designer shows it on the board.
Do you have matching invitations and postcards?
Yes. Pearl and kraft come in invitations, thank you cards and postcards, our waterproof stock comes in 4 by 6, 5 by 7, 5.5 by 8.5 and 4 by 9 cards, and gold and silver foil comes on postcards, invitations and folded greeting cards.
Can you design my specialty card for me?
Yes. Ask for design service in the designer and we create the artwork for $65.00, then send a proof. You can also start from one of our templates drawn for each finish.
