Left chest first
Most staff shirts carry the logo on the left chest, about 3.5 to 4 inches wide, and something on the back: the business name, the web address or the phone at the upper back. On a polo, embroider the left chest; on a T-shirt, screen print it. The left chest lockup template pairs a logo with the name beside it.
By team
- Barista and kitchen crew: role shirts for cafes and restaurants.
- Logo and business name: the everyday uniform.
- Embroidered wordmark: a clean two-line name for polos and jackets.
- Holiday crew: a seasonal shirt for the December rush.
Embroidery or print
Embroidery looks right on a polo, a jacket or a cap and outlasts the garment; letters stay at least a quarter inch tall. Printing is better value on T-shirts and hoodies. Mixing is normal: embroidered polos for the front counter and printed tees for the kitchen, on one order.
From the shop: Order a few extra shirts in the middle sizes for new hires. It is cheaper now than a small reorder in two months.
