Pearl business cards are for the moment a plain card would undersell you. The paper has a soft pearl shimmer that moves as the card turns in the light, so a simple design looks finished and expensive without a single extra color. The paper and the printing

Pearl cards are 3.5 by 2 inches on a 14 pt (110 lb) pearlescent card, uncoated, with the shimmer in the paper itself, printed in full color on one side or both. They are made in 100, 250, 500 or 1,000, and the same pearl paper comes in 5 by 7 and A2 invitations, 4 by 6 and 5.5 by 8.5 cards. What pearl paper looks like

Hold a pearl card under a lamp or by a window and the surface glows, a little like the inside of a shell, while the printing stays crisp on top. It is not a metallic ink and it is not glitter: the shimmer is in the paper, so it covers the whole card evenly, front and back, and costs nothing extra in the design.

Designs that let the shimmer show

Light colors and open space show the pearl best: a white or cream card with your name in navy, charcoal or a soft gold reads as elegant from across a table. A dark, solid background covers the paper and hides the shimmer, so save that for a small accent. Our pearl templates are drawn this way, and we will tell you on your proof if a design would hide the effect.

Matching invitations and cards

The same pearl paper comes in invitations at 5 by 7 and A2, and in 4 by 6 and 5.5 by 8.5 cards, so a bridal shop, a salon or a planner can hand out a card that matches the thank you notes and the event invitations. Order them together and we keep the colors consistent across the set.

When to choose pearl

Choose pearl when the card is part of the experience: a consultation, a wedding, a high end listing, a gift with a purchase. For a card that has to survive a wallet for a year, waterproof cards or a laminated soft touch card are tougher. For more thickness, see painted edge cards.

Design it online: start from one of our templates or your own logo, or upload a print-ready file in the designer, and see the price for every quantity as you go. The price is for the whole order, from 100, and the more you order, the less each one costs. We check every file and send a proof within 1 business day, and nothing is made until you approve it. It is ready to pick up or ships 6 to 7 business days after you approve the proof. Pick it up free at our Hopewell Junction shop, or we ship it anywhere in the US.
