What a palm card has to say
Front: your photo, your name with the last name largest, the office, one line of slogan and the day to vote. Back: why you are running in three short priorities, who stands with you, and exactly when and where to vote. The 2026 dates are set in: early voting from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, November 1, and Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, with the polls open 6 AM to 9 PM. The poll site line points to your own website, since sites change from year to year.
The "Paid for by" line
New York election law asks every political committee that pays for printed campaign pieces, such as flyers and mailings, to say so: "Paid for by" and the committee's name. Every palm card template carries that line on the front and on the back; change it to your committee's exact name. A group spending on its own, not working with a candidate, adds that the card was not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. Running for Congress? Federal rules ask for the line in a printed box, set apart from the rest of the card. Tell us, and we set it up on your proof.
Handing them out
- Keep a stack in a pocket and a box in the car; a door-to-door afternoon goes through more than you expect.
- Stay more than 100 feet from a polling place entrance while the polls are open. New York bars campaigning inside that line.
- A school district paying for its own budget vote card may give the facts but may not urge a yes vote. A parent group paying its own way may.
From the shop: Print the "Sorry I missed you" card with the rest of your order and write a short note on it at each door. People keep the ones with handwriting.
