What it's for
Custom shape roll labels are cut around your logo or artwork, so the label is the shape of your brand: any shape that is not a circle, oval, rectangle or square, such as a leaf for a tea, a bottle for a hot sauce, or your logo for a box or a bag. They suit makers, shops, breweries, farms and any business that labels its own products, and they come on rolls, so hundreds go on quickly by hand or through a labeling machine. Send us your logo and we will help you choose the size and the material, and your proof shows exactly where we cut before anything is printed.
The cut, the size and the price
Each label is printed in full color and kiss-cut 1/8 inch outside your art, through the label and not the backing, so it peels off in one clean shape. The size you choose, up to 12 inches each way, is the box around the cut, and that box is what the label is priced by. Choose white film for anything that gets wet, oily or cold, clear or silver film for a premium look, or paper for dry goods, with a glossy or matte laminate or coating. Order any amount from 25; the price of each label falls as the order grows. Design your labels online.
Die cut or kiss cut?
A die cut goes through the label and its backing, which suits a single sticker. Roll labels are kiss-cut: the blade cuts the label to shape and leaves the backing whole, so the labels stay on the roll in a neat line and peel off one at a time, by hand or on a labeling machine. Ask for die cut labels on a roll and this is what you get. For single stickers to hand out, see our die cut stickers.
Art that cuts cleanly
The cut follows the outside edge of your artwork, so a simple, bold outline makes the best label. Thin spikes, tiny gaps and loose pieces are hard to cut and to peel. The designer draws the cut line as you work, and we check it again on your proof. A logo made of separate pieces cuts best with a shape behind it, such as a circle, a badge or a rounded outline, so each label peels off whole.
Materials and finishes
White film resists water, oil and the fridge: the right choice for bottles, jars, soap and sauces. Clear film lets the glass or the product show around your art, and silver film gives a brushed metal look. Neither has white of its own, so add white ink: we print white first, under your colors, so they stay bright, and anything white in your design prints white. Freezer-grade film holds on frozen products, heavy-duty film stands up to heat, chemicals and the outdoors, and paper is the lower cost choice for dry goods, boxes and bags. A laminate is a clear plastic film over the print for durability, glossy or matte (smooth, with no shine), and gives the most protection; a coating costs a little less. Every label has a permanent adhesive, except the removable white paper, which repositions and peels off cleanly.

Questions about custom shape roll labels
What is the smallest order?
25 labels of one design. The price of each label falls quickly as the quantity grows, and the designer shows the price for any amount as you go.
How is a custom shape label priced?
By the box around the cut. A logo 2 3/4 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall, with the 1/8 inch border all round, is priced as a 3 by 2 inch label. The material, the finish and the quantity set the rest.
Do I need to draw the cut line?
No. The designer draws the cut line around your art as you work, 1/8 inch outside it, and we set it up in the print file for you. Your proof shows exactly where we cut.
Can you print white on clear or silver labels?
Yes, with white ink. We print the white first, under your colors, so they stay solid and bright, and anything white in your design prints white. Without white ink, the white parts of your design are not printed, and the clear or silver film shows there.
What if my design has separate pieces?
The cut follows the outline of your art. For a design in several pieces we suggest a shape behind it, so each label peels off whole, and your proof shows the cut before we print.
Are they waterproof?
The film labels resist water, oil and the fridge, with a laminate or a coating over the print. Paper labels are for dry, indoor use.
Can I use them on a labeling machine?
Yes. Choose which way the labels come off the roll and how many go on each roll in the designer, or tell us your machine and we will set them up to match.

I would recommend Hudson Valley Promos to anyone looking for custom embroidery work. I went here with an idea for Christmas presents for my family. Zach not only created the idea, but was so friendly and professional throughout the process. I will definitely be going to Hudson Valley Promos again for some more custom work. Please consider using this local shop because you will not be disappointed. Thanks, Zach!
Zack and Bruce took care of me like I was a 15 year old client. I cannot thank them enough for their help and quick turnaround. Products came out perfect. Truly made my day.
Zack is truly the best! I get 100% of my business stationary and apparel through hvpromos. Quality and turn around time is top notch. I won’t go anywhere else.
Incredible. Zack was first class from inception to completion. I needed four shirts embroidered for a golf outing that was less than a week away. The communication, responsiveness, and guidance were top notch. The shirts came out beautifully and I could not be happier. Highly recommend Zack and his team for all your needs. Thank you!
