Foil Postcards

What it's for

Foil postcards turn a mailer or a handout into something people keep on the fridge or the desk. Gold or silver metallic foil goes on the headline, the logo, a border or a pattern you mark, and the rest prints in full color. Real estate agents use them for just listed and just sold cards, shops and restaurants for grand openings and holiday greetings, and nonprofits for galas and thank yous. Sizes, card and printing

Foil postcards and flat cards come in 4 by 6, 5 by 7, 8.5 by 5.5, the slim 8.5 by 3.5 and the letter size 8.5 by 11, on a thick 16 pt card laminated on both sides, matte or soft touch, and in A2 (4.25 by 5.5) in matte. Gold or silver foil goes on the front, or on the front and back when you print both sides. They are made in 100, 250, 500, 750 or 1,000 (A2 in 100, 250, 500 or 1,000) and printed in 4 to 5 business days after you approve your proof (A2 in 7 to 10). Design yours online.

Mailing foil postcards

A 4 by 6 or 8.5 by 5.5 foil postcard mails like any postcard: keep the right half of the back clear for the address and postage, and keep foil off that area. Want us to handle the mailing? Ask about direct mail.

Setting up your foil

Keep foil words at 8 point or larger, lines at least 0.75 point, and foil about 0.2 inch (5 mm) in from the edges. Nothing prints under the foil, so do not repeat a foil logo in ink beneath it. The designer checks each foil mark when you press Check my design.

Gold or silver, matte or soft touch

Gold suits warm, classic and holiday designs; silver suits cool, modern and winter ones. Matte lamination is crisp with no glare, and soft touch feels velvety in the hand. Switch any of them in the designer and the price follows.

How ordering works

Design it online: start from one of our templates or your own logo, or upload a print-ready file in the designer, and see the price for every quantity as you go. The price is for the whole order, from 100, and the more you order, the less each one costs. We check every file and send a proof within 1 business day, and nothing is made until you approve it. It is ready to pick up or ships 6 to 7 business days after you approve the proof. Pick it up free at our Hopewell Junction shop, or we ship it anywhere in the US.
