Foil Invitations

What it's for

Foil invitations tell guests the day matters before they read a word. Gold or silver metallic foil on the names, the date, a monogram or a border, pressed onto a thick laminated card, makes a wedding, a gala, a milestone birthday or a grand opening feel like an occasion. Sizes, card and printing

Foil invitations are flat cards in 5 by 7 or A2 (4.25 by 5.5), standing tall or laid wide, on a thick 16 pt card laminated on both sides: matte or soft touch at 5 by 7, matte at A2. Gold or silver foil goes on the front, or on the front and back when you print the back. 5 by 7 cards are made in 100, 250, 500, 750 or 1,000 and printed in 4 to 5 business days after you approve your proof; A2 cards in 100, 250, 500 or 1,000, printed in 7 to 10. What to put in foil

Foil works best on a few strong things: the names, the date or a monogram, and a thin border. Keep the details (the time, the address, the RSVP) in a clear ink color, so the foil stands out and the small print stays easy to read.

Setting up your foil

Keep foil words at 8 point or larger, ideally 10 and up, in a simple or classic typeface rather than a very thin script, lines at least 0.75 point, and foil about 0.2 inch (5 mm) in from the edges. Nothing prints under the foil. The designer checks each foil mark for you.

Order them in time

The price is for the whole order, from 100, and the more you order, the less each one costs. We check every file and send a proof within 1 business day, and nothing is made until you approve it.
