Thin, flat and smooth
Styrene is a smooth, white plastic sheet, printed in full color. It is stiffer than a poster, so it hangs flat in a window or on a wall without curling, and much thinner than foam board, so it slides into a snap frame, a sign holder or a menu stand. It is made for indoors, including the inside of a store window.
Sizes and where they go
- 6" × 24": a strip for a shelf edge, the top of a display or a window band.
- 12" × 18": a counter, a door or a small window.
- 18" × 24" and 24" × 36": the poster sizes for windows and walls.
- 24" × 48": tall and bold beside an entrance.
- 12" × 24" and 24" × 24": a doorway sign, a logo or a window display.
Window and shelf signs that sell
One message, big, with strong contrast so it reads from the sidewalk or across the store: the percent off and when it ends, what is new, the hours. A sale sign should always say when the sale ends.
