Write for a moving flag
A flag flutters and turns, so it carries one idea: OPEN, SALE, NOW HIRING, GRAND OPENING, CAR WASH, FRESH PRODUCE. On feather and convex flags the words run up the flag and read from bottom to top; on a teardrop they sit across the rounded head. Phone numbers and small print do not survive the wind, so the templates leave them off. The pole sleeve and the curved top edge need about three inches of clear space, which the layouts keep.
Shapes and heights
- Feather flags: the classic angled shape, in four heights up to about 15 feet.
- Convex flags: a feather flag with a rounded top edge, the same four heights.
- Teardrop flags: holds its shape in any wind, in four heights from about 4.5 to 10.5 feet.
Order the flag with a pole and the base that suits the ground (a spike for grass, a cross base for a paved lot), or the flag alone to refresh one you have.
Getting it
Flags are made to order and ship straight to you, usually about 2 business days after you approve the proof, plus transit. They cannot be picked up at the shop.
