A shipping label with your name on it
The 6" × 4" template puts your logo and return address at the top left and leaves the middle for large ship-to lines. Keep clear space for the label or barcode your carrier adds. Never add anything that looks like a stamp or an official postal marking: mail carrying imitation postage is not mailable.
Warnings people notice
- Fragile, this side up: yellow on red with arrows, for glass, ceramics and anything with a right way up.
- Fragile, handle with care: red on white in one ink, a frame and arrows pointing up.
- Handle with care, handmade inside: a gentler purple label for pottery, candles and gifts.
- Perishable, keep refrigerated: yellow on blue with snowflakes; put it on a stock with freezer adhesive, which goes on as cold as -20 F.
A warning asks for care; it does not replace good packing, so pack every box as if nobody will read it.
The stock room
The inventory label has lines for the item, the SKU and the bin, and a box for a barcode, so a wall of bins sorts itself. White gloss paper is not made to be written on, so pick another stock for labels you fill in by hand. Thank you, handmade and gift seals, round or rectangular, close a mailer or a tissue wrap on the way out.
By the roll
Rolls sit on the packing table or feed a labeler. In solid inks, labels up to 3" across can come in a dispenser box, and they ship free by ground, straight to you, about 2 to 4 business days after you approve the proof. Full color labels start at 25, can be perforated between labels to tear off by hand, and can be picked up at our shop.
From the shop: Put one fragile label on the top of the box and one on a side. Boxes get stacked and turned in transit, and the warning should show however the box lands.
