The couple's names in a flowing script, the date, and the venue or a short line such as "Welcome to our wedding". 24" × 36" on a floor easel is the size most couples choose for the ceremony or the reception entrance; 18" × 24" suits a table by the guest book. A second board with the evening's schedule (cocktails, dinner, the first dance) helps guests settle in.

Showers, birthdays and graduations

  • Baby shower: "Welcome, baby" with the parent's name and the date.
  • Birthday: the name and the age, big enough to show up in photos.
