Events that fill the green
Town events draw a crowd when the flyer makes the plan easy: the day and the time big, the place with its street, what it costs, and what happens if it rains. The concert series lists four nights with gold date tiles; the pancake breakfast and the church supper put the prices for adults and kids on one line; the market gives its season and its vendors.
Notices people actually read
A meeting notice works when it looks official without looking like a bill. This one is set like a letterhead: the association's name and address, a heavy rule, the meeting in big type, when, where and who in three cells, and a numbered agenda, with an email for questions from anyone who cannot come.
Drives and lost pets
A drive flyer says exactly what to bring and where to leave it: the coat drive lists six things with boxes to tick and three drop-off places with their hours, and ends with the dates. A lost pet flyer is one photo, one name, one phone number, all as big as the page allows, with where the pet was last seen.
Where to post them
- Library, town hall and grocery store boards, at eye level with all four corners taped.
- Shop windows on Main Street, with the owner's permission.
- Utility poles only where your town allows it, and taken down after the event.
- Never in mailboxes: only mail with postage may go in them.
