Rules signs
Park rules and dog park rules signs hold a short list: open dawn to dusk, dogs must be leashed, carry in, carry out, no glass. Keep it to seven lines, each at least an inch tall on 18" × 24" or larger, and use the wording the town board adopted. A "by order of" line goes on only if the town supplies it.
Town services
- Transfer station hours: the days and hours, and the items accepted.
- Recycling accepted, with what goes in which bin.
- Food pantry hours, thrift shop open and donations accepted for community groups.
- Vote here arrows for polling places, strictly nonpartisan.
Welcome and watch
A welcome to town sign carries the hamlet's name and a line such as "Est. 17__" with facts the town supplies, at 24" × 36" or larger. The neighborhood watch design uses a generic eye and house rather than the national program's trademarked logo. Town seals go on when the town provides them.
From the shop: Before you print a rules sign, have the town clerk read the wording. It is much easier to change on the proof than on the post.
