Match the edge
Pick the template whose accent matches the edge you want: the black and white card for black edges, black and gold for gold, the studio red for red, the architect's blue for light blue. Change the accent in the designer and the card follows your brand color instead.
Why less works on a thick card
The first thing anyone notices about a painted edge card is the weight and the stripe of color, so the front only has to say who you are. A name, a title, a phone number and one rule or mark is plenty. Busy layouts compete with the edge; open space lets it frame the card. On soft touch the same idea holds: muted color and fine type look rich on the velvety finish, where bright photos and small print do not.
Who these suit
- Attorneys and advisors: the navy law office card on soft touch, quiet and serious.
- Designers and studios: the studio red, with red edges for a card that matches the brand.
- Architects: a fine blue rule and light blue edges.
- Private chefs and caterers: a gold star on charcoal, on soft touch.
Order them thick
