A thank you, not an ad
The best business holiday cards say thank you and little else: a greeting on the front, a short note and your name on the back, maybe your team's signatures. Thanksgiving cards stand out because they arrive before the December rush; New Year cards arrive after it.
Timing
- Thanksgiving: mail by mid November; Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026.
- Season's greetings and happy holidays: mail in the first week of December.
- Happy New Year 2027: mail after Christmas so it lands in the quiet week.
- Black Friday and Small Business Saturday offers: mail to arrive the week before.
Churches and groups
Christmas Eve and Easter service cards invite the neighborhood, with the service times on the back. Order early: December is the busiest printing month of the year, and cards need the printing days the designer shows, after the proof, before they can be mailed.
From the shop: Hand-sign a few dozen cards for your best customers even if the rest go out printed. People notice the ink.
