Signs with a price
Put the product and the price with its unit in the biggest type: FRESH EGGS, $5 a dozen; LOCAL HONEY, $12 a pound; HAY, square bales $8. On aluminum, the price panel can be left blank and written on with a paint marker when prices change. A 12" × 18" sign suits the stand; 24" × 36" reads from the road.
Signs with rules attached
- Firewood: sold and advertised by its three dimensions in New York, "face cord, 16 in pieces, 4 ft × 8 ft", and called seasoned only with how long and how.
- Raw milk: permit holders post "NOTICE: Raw milk sold here. Raw milk does not provide the protection of pasteurization." The template carries that wording exactly, with nothing added inside it.
- Christmas trees: a prices by height board for the lot.
The honor box
A self-serve sign says what is for sale, the prices, how to pay (cash or your payment handle) and thank you. Aluminum survives a season of rain at an unattended stand, and "closed for the season" hangs over it in the winter.
