When aluminum beats plastic
A corrugated sign is fine for a house that sells in a month. A commercial space for lease, a lot for sale, or new construction can take a year, and an aluminum panel still looks sharp at the end of it. Brokerages also order aluminum for their standing panel, the brokerage panel with the logo and office phone, and swap status riders under it as the listing moves.
The set
- For sale: agent panel, red band and brokerage column layouts.
- Status: sold, under contract, sale pending, back on the market, just listed, new price, coming soon.
- Commercial and land: commercial space for lease with the square footage and use, lots available, land for sale.
- Luxury: cream and gold, with the agent in Playfair Display.
Rules that come with the listing
19 NYCRR 175.25 asks every sign selling or leasing a property to identify the brokerage; an agent named on it brings the license type and a labeled cell number. Describe the property honestly and never promise appreciation. Towns cap real estate sign sizes: East Fishkill exempts signs up to four square feet a side, one per property, set 15 feet back, so a 24" × 24" panel fits and a 24" × 36" needs a check. Commercial and subdivision signs often need a permit; ask the town.
