A banner for each crop
Name the crop, add "pick your own" or "for sale", and give the hours or the price with its unit. For u-pick apples, list the varieties that are ready ("Honeycrisp, McIntosh, Empire") and the bag price; for berries, a line to call ahead for picking conditions saves a wasted trip. A 4 × 8 ft banner reads from a country road at speed; 3 × 6 ft suits the stand itself.
The season, banner by banner
- June and July: strawberries, then blueberries.
- Summer: sweet corn, sunflowers, the farm stand and the farmers market.
- September and October: apples, hot cider, pumpkins, and the corn maze with its weekends.
- Late November: Christmas trees, choose and cut, with the opening date.
Hanging it at the farm
Farm fences are open to the wind, so use mesh, or 18 oz vinyl with wind slits, and tie off every grommet. Leave the year off crop banners and they come out every season. Directional arrows and price signs are cheaper as yard signs; the same designs are on our farm yard sign templates.
