Greetings and events

  • October: happy Halloween, haunted house, trunk or treat, Halloween party, fall fest (Halloween is Saturday, October 31, 2026).
  • November: happy Thanksgiving and the turkey trot 5K.
  • December: merry Christmas, happy holidays, season's greetings, tree lighting, photos with Santa, and a New Year's Eve party.
  • Summer: happy 4th of July, fireworks at dusk, and "closed for Labor Day".

Holiday sales

Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026 and Small Business Saturday on the 28th; the sale banners have lines for both. Memorial Day weekend and 4th of July sales round out the year, each with a line for when the sale ends. Keep sale wording off tribute banners: Memorial Day and Veterans Day have their own respectful designs.

Order early

Banners take 2 to 4 business days after the proof, but the weeks before Halloween and December are the busiest of the year. Order two to three weeks ahead. A banner without a year, such as season's greetings, can come out every December.

Can I use a holiday character on a banner?

Not a trademarked one. Many holiday cartoon characters are licensed, so the templates use pumpkins, snowflakes, stars and bold type.

How far ahead should holiday banners go up?

Two to three weeks before the day for greetings and sales, and as soon as the date is set for an event such as a tree lighting.
