Event and festival banner templates

Every event needs a banner at the entrance, and most need a few more: a start and finish line, a thank you to the sponsors, a goal thermometer for the fundraiser. These 30 designs cover festivals and street fairs, 5Ks and turkey trots, benefit dinners, craft fairs and parades.

Every one opens in the designer ready to edit: your words, your colors, your logo.

The welcome banner

The entrance banner names the event and the date, with sponsor logos along the bottom if they paid to be there. Make it 3 × 8 or 4 × 8 ft so it reads as people pull in, and hang it where the parking lot empties toward the gate. Add a rain date to the banners that go up ahead of time.

Runs, fundraisers and sponsors

  • 5K start and finish banners, sized to hang across a course or from an arch; run the 5K and turkey trot banners go up ahead to sign runners up.
  • Fundraising goal thermometer: "help us reach $10,000", with marks you can fill in as the total climbs.
  • Thank you to our sponsors: gold logos largest, then silver, then bronze, each tier about 60 percent of the one above.
  • Vendor booth banners for the people selling at your fair.

Plan for the day

Outdoor events need wind in mind: mesh for fences, and grommets tied at every one. Banners are ready in 2 to 4 business days after you approve the proof, so order a week before at least. Keep them off utility poles, and take them down promptly afterward.

How should sponsor logos be sized on a thank-you banner?

By tier: the top sponsors largest, and each lower tier about 60 percent the size of the one above. Ask sponsors for vector logos so they print sharply.

Can a start and finish banner be hung across a road?

Only with the town's event permit and a safe way to hang it, usually from an arch or two poles at the side. Pole pockets or sewn-in rope make it easier to rig.
