Privacy at the counter
A "next guest, please wait here" line a few feet back from the pharmacy or the check-in counter gives the person at the window room to talk privately. It is one of the most useful floor graphics a practice can put down, and a line starts here mark sets where the queue begins.
Moving through the building
- Entrance this way, for a building with several doors.
- Keep right in busy corridors.
- Keep your distance and keep 6 feet apart markers, for the seasons and places that ask for spacing.
Clean and calm
Healthcare floors are cleaned often; laminated decals are made to take it. Use calm blues and teals to match the practice, and keep the wording plain: patients who are unwell or anxious read less, so two or three words and an arrow do more than a sentence. For a lab or an imaging suite reached through long corridors, a colored line of arrows from the front desk saves staff from walking patients there one by one.
From the shop: Put a privacy line at every window where patients talk about care: the pharmacy, check-in and the lab. One at each keeps the line calm.
